Twenty-three Classmates joined together to participate in an On-line Virtual Reunion using the Zoom Meeting application. Individuals from California to New York, and from Washington to South Carolina, gathered together for a three-hour long session of sharing and enjoying memories. Several were brought to tears by good memories and remembering lost friends. Most were on computers with cameras and others were on smart-phones and regular land-line telephones. Almost everyone was able to communicate without issue. There were a few technical problems with individual set-ups, but it appears that Zoom lived up to its reputation of providing a simple and fun way to provide group communications. A survey is being conducted to solicit feedback from all the participants and more will be shared in the future. Approximately 50% of the currently registered Classmates responded to the survey taken before the Reunion. Unfortunately, about fifteen Classmates who were interested ended up unable to participate because of a conflict in schedules. If the post-reunion survey indicates an interest in future virtual gatherings, we will try to provide more advance notice so everyone can arrange to be included. Classmates have been encouraged to share their experience on the RAHS60-Chat Reflector so all can benefit from the event. Additional details will be reported as time allows. |
